Should Authors Who Write Fake Holocaust Stories And Say They Are Real Be Locked Up Like Holocaust Deniers?
There’s been a lot of these fake Holocaust® stories by people trying to make money off a tragedy. In my opinion they should be thrown in jail for conspiracy to committ fraud. What do you think? Shouldn’t they be condemned the same as holocaust deniers?

If they actually defraud someone… But, is it a crime to write a biography and knowingly put falsehoods in it? I don’t know. Would you still want to jail someone who, say, claims they were in the Vietnam War, yet weren’t, or climbed Mt. Everest, but didn’t?
So, I think it should be treated as any lie put in print for money — if others are jailed for falsifying their past, then yes. But if no, no.
Lying is sometimes a crime; believing lies, or having strange or even abhorrent (to most of us) views of history shouldn’t be, unless it goads someone to do something criminal.
I’m from the US and I don’t agree with jailing liars just because they lie. I believe in the free marketplace of ideas. Let the holocaust deniers say what they want; the truth is stronger.
There are exceptions, of course: you can’t tolerate somebody shouting “fire” in a crowded theater.
When I got home from Nam both times I was greeted at the airport by Pacifists LOL that were very rude and accusatory without knowing any facts. This is similiar.
