Stories…?
I’m a writer, and I happen to be gathering ideas for some short stories I intend to write. I’m also very curious as to what the public likes to read. I want to know what you think I should write a story about. What kind of story would you like to read? Any ideas out there?

What about a story on how a writer could not think of a plot then she advertizes and gets one from a supernatural being(whoever) who subtly suggests a plot about a story of a girl who is torn between two men. When the writer starts writing, what she writes becomes reality…and so the story revolves around the “story”, if you know what i mean.
I would like to read a storie of winning the lottery.

I like insight stories. Those are usually what I write, because when I took a writing class, the instructor explained that those are the most likely to interest a reader. Take a character through 30 different scenes, develop them, and then use your favorites to create a short story. For ex. I did one on a guy who didn’t like game shows. One scene I have him watching wheel of fortune, whining about something. Then I show him at work with his friends being invited to play poker and turning them down. Soon enough we get to see that my character doesn’t enjoy competition. It made for a funny story, and I got pretty decent reviews. Good luck, and personally I’d like to read a story about someone who goes to a parallel world where things are almost right, but 2 or 3 things are different (people don’t shower, cars drive themselves, all suits in a deck of cards are red) which gives your character a chance to develop.
best bit of advice that I ever heard about writing: write what you know
i want a humorous love story
I think you should aim for the teenage crowd. I’m 15 and I love to read stories (and also write them, I want to be an author someday) about teenage dramas like boy problems and friend problems. Like a high school thing, if you will.
I honestly have to say, write about what you are passionate about. Whether it is something like discovering new worlds or falling desperately in love with someone, you won’t truly know what your story is until it is written down. Take this from someone who writes a lot, and has finally decided what she enjoys writing about. Most importantly, have some fun, because if you make it something that you hate, it will come through your writing. That’s pretty much all of the advice I can give you right now, but if you have anything you want to talk about, feel free to contact me. avariluvatar@yahoo.com
If you write fiction, write about something realistic, not far fetched.
