I always read in magazines that guys like it when women approach them first. Ok, I agree, they will be flattered just like girls would be too, but I just feel like “traditionally” men take rejection better than girls because it’s kind of what the society accepts. I know I’m gonna get smashed for sounding so sexist, but PLEASE this is not the point of the question!
If guys do like to be approached first by a girl, how would you like to be approached without the girls being too creepy?

Well yeah, it would be kinda nice for the girl to make the first move. But in reality, that doesn’t really happen. Like you said, society has certain expectations and standards. One of which is that ninety percent of the time, the guy has to make the first move.
Not all guys like to the girls making the first step. Some guys find it too forward and prefer to make the first step.
Do what you are comfortable with.
A non-creepy way is to go up to them and have a casual chat. If they have any interest, they will take the next step of buying you a drink, asking you on a date, etc…
