Theft during final days = Sad.
A message, likely to remain unread, to the visitor here today who saw fit to steal a couple of books rather than pay the ridiculously low price available during my 50% closing sale:
- The Christian in me says “Enjoy. I don’t know your circumstances. Perhaps you are out of work and out of money. Perhaps you are too embarrassed to purchase certain types of books face to face. Perhaps you’re just a nasty person. But I truly hope that you get great enjoyment out of your stolen literature. Please consider giving them to a deserving person when you’ve finished your reading.”
- The soon out-of-money, soon out-of-work bookseller in me says “Ouch.”
- The hard-working, 7-days a week entrepreneur in me says “Get yourself a project and some friends. My hard work here has paid off enormously. Ok, the store is closing, but no one can take away the wonderful experiences I’ve had and I’ll always treasure the friendships I’ve made during this time.
p.s. go elsewhere to make your successes and friendships. I don’t want to see your face in my shop again.”
- The human in me says “Shame on you. Shame on you.”
