So many people here seem to believe a person just shovels words onto a page, sends them off, and then waits for checks to come rolling in from publishers and movie studios along with the fame and the fan mail.
Showing people that it is as much of a job as building anything else and working anywhere else (and even less well paying — authors generally don’t enjoy anything like a certain amount per hour at regular intervals).
