I’m working on a story about fatal flaws. I cannot think of any characters, so any and all literary characters would be great. Please cite character and literary masterpiece.

Oedipus in “Oedipus the King” by Sophocles. This is pretty much the best example. Aristotle even mentions him in “Poetics” when he talks about fatal flaws.
Creon in “Antigone” by Sophocles.
Odysseus in “The Iliad and the Odyssey” by Homer
Many of Shakespeare’s plays have characters with fatal flaws. The titular characters in “Hamlet,” “Macbeth,” and “Romeo and Juliet” have them.
“The Death of a Salesman” (Willie Loman) by Arthur Miller would be something more modern.

To go with the classics, Achilles is an obvious one–he’s whom we get Achilles’ heel from. Achilles’ mom dipped him in a sacred river to make him immortal, holding him by the heel: The heel was the only part of him that didn’t touch the water, and thus was mortal. The fatal flaw was when he was shot in the heel with an arrow, and, since it was the only part of him that was mortal, that shot with an arrow killed him.
