Archie comics. The stories were repetitive, predictive, and pretty much clones of eachother. But the characters were fun – and that’s all that matters. It was fun to escape into the town of Riverdale and run into people that were familiar to everybody.
I still catch myself at the grocery store checkout counter eyeing the latest digests and with itchy fingers to pick them up and buy alongside the other groceries I’m about to pay for. And I’m 40 years old!
D.C. Comics particularly the Superman and Batman mythologies.
I read my own kids Donald Duck stories complete with duck voices.
I never read comics as a kid, but my daughter really loves Bone. It’s really funny, and kid friendly.
